Розыск - Rovshan Janiyev - Netflix

Rovshan Janiyev (Azerbaijani: Rövşən Rafiq oğlu Cəniyev, Russian: Ровшан Рафик оглы Джаниев; 27 January 1975 – 18 August 2016), also known as Rovshan Lankaransky (Russian: Ровшан Ленкоранский, Azerbaijani: Rövşən Lənkəranski), or Rovshan Aliyev (Azerbaijani: Rövşən Əliyev, Russian: Ровшан Алиев), was an influential Azeri gangster.

Розыск - Criminal acts - Netflix

Later in 2000, he shot dead a prominent Baku crime boss in broad daylight and was subsequently beaten so severely that he developed a mental illness. Taking this into account, the court released him after just a few months imprisonment. Fearing for his life, Janiyev fled from Azerbaijan to Moscow where he grew more and more powerful within the underworld and eventually controlled all the ethnic Azeri gangs in Moscow, running protection rackets and drug trafficking. Eventually competition over territory grew with the Caucasian gangs led by Aslan Usoyan. In 2010 an attempt was made on Usoyan's life and it has been theorized that Janiyev, who had been arrested trying to enter Ukraine shortly afterwards (where he already controlled some criminal business and had been previously granted refugee status), had a major part in its planning and execution. In January 2013, after Usoyan's assassination, Janiyev, along with Tariel Oniani, was regarded as a primary suspect. Shortly afterwards Astamur Guliya, an Abkhaz gangster and ally of Janiyev was gunned down in Sukhumi. Janiyev himself was reported killed in Istanbul on 6 February, but this claim was denied by his brother Emil, who claimed he was alive and well in the United Arab Emirates. In 2013, Italian law enforcement authorities reported Janiyev's presence in the country to Interpol. In a law enforcement report, Janiyev was accused of being engaged in organized crime, bribery, money laundering and forgery of documents. On 17 August 2016 Janiyev was assassinated in Istanbul, Turkey, after returning from a trip to Dubai. Janiyev was shot in his luxury Range Rover car, which bore an Azerbaijani license plate, in the Beşiktaş district. Janiyev was transported to Şişli Etfal hospital and died of this wounds there. Janiyev's local driver was wounded but survived. Janiyev's corpse was flown to Azerbaijan via a private plane belonging to Azeri billionaire Mübariz Mansimov. Reports emerged that more than 25,000 people came to mourn him at the airport. Yeni Musavat columnist Ilgar Kamil explained the phenomenon of glorifying Janiyev by the pratfall effect which would allow people to excuse Janiyev's criminal past because he had avenged his father “in due manner” as a teenager. Another reason, according to Kamil, is the tendency to subconsciously admire someone who does what others would like to do but do not dare to.

Soviet Storm: WWII in the East - Battle of Stalingrad - Netflix

The Battle of Stalingrad (23 August 1942 – 2 February 1943) was the largest confrontation of World War II, in which Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad (now Volgograd) in Southern Russia. Marked by fierce close quarters combat and direct assaults on civilians in air raids, it was the largest (nearly 2.2 million personnel) and bloodiest (1.8–2 million killed, wounded or captured) battle in the history of warfare. After their defeat at Stalingrad, the German High Command had to withdraw vast military forces from the Western Front to replace their losses. The German offensive to capture Stalingrad began in August 1942, using the 6th Army and elements of the 4th Panzer Army. The attack was supported by intensive Luftwaffe bombing that reduced much of the city to rubble. The fighting degenerated into house-to-house fighting; both sides poured reinforcements into the city. By mid-November 1942, the Germans had pushed the Soviet defenders back at great cost into narrow zones along the west bank of the Volga River. On 19 November 1942, the Red Army launched Operation Uranus, a two-pronged attack targeting the weaker Romanian and Hungarian armies protecting the German 6th Army's flanks. The Axis forces on the flanks were overrun and the 6th Army was cut off and surrounded in the Stalingrad area. Adolf Hitler ordered that the army stay in Stalingrad and make no attempt to break out; instead, attempts were made to supply the army by air and to break the encirclement from the outside. Heavy fighting continued for another two months. By the beginning of February 1943, the Axis forces in Stalingrad had exhausted their ammunition and food. The remaining units of the 6th Army surrendered. The battle lasted five months, one week and three days.

Soviet Storm: WWII in the East - Sixth Army surrounded - Netflix

The surrounded Axis personnel comprised 265,000 Germans, Romanians, Italians, and the Croatians. In addition, Beevor states that one quarter of the Sixth Army's frontline strength (i.e. more than 65,000 personnel) were Hilfswillige (Hiwi) or “volunteer auxiliaries”: a term used for personnel recruited amongst Soviet POWs and civilians from areas under occupation. Hiwi often proved to be reliable Axis personnel, because the Soviet penalty for collaboration was summary execution. Other sources suggest that only 40,000 Hiwi and similar auxiliaries were surrounded, or about 15% of the total. German personnel in the pocket numbered about 210,000, according to strength breakdowns of the 20 field divisions (average size 9,000) and 100 battalion sized units of the Sixth Army on 19 November 1942. Inside the pocket (German: Kessel, literally “cauldron”), there were also around 10,000 Soviet civilians and several thousand Soviet soldiers the Germans had taken captive during the battle. Not all of the 6th Army was trapped; 50,000 soldiers were brushed aside outside the pocket. These belonged mostly to the other 2 divisions of the 6th Army between the Italian and Romanian Armies: the 62nd and 298th Infantry Divisions. Of the 210,000 Germans, 10,000 remained to fight on, 105,000 surrendered, 35,000 left by air and the remaining 60,000 died. Even with the desperate situation of the Sixth Army, Army Group A continued their invasion of the Caucasus further south from 19 November until 19 December. By 19 December the German army was in full retreat out of the Caucasus, while using the Sixth Army to tie down the Soviet forces. Hence Army Group A was never used to help relieve the Sixth Army. Army Group Don was formed under Field Marshal von Manstein. Under his command were the 20 German and 2 Romanian divisions encircled at Stalingrad, Adam's battle groups formed along the Chir River and on the Don bridgehead, plus the remains of the Romanian 3rd Army. The Red Army units immediately formed two defensive fronts: a circumvallation facing inward and a contravallation facing outward. Field Marshal Erich von Manstein advised Hitler not to order the 6th Army to break out, stating that he could break through the Soviet lines and relieve the besieged 6th Army. The American historians Williamson Murray and Alan Millet wrote that it was Manstein's message to Hitler on 24 November advising him that the 6th Army should not break out, along with Göring's statements that the Luftwaffe could supply Stalingrad that “... sealed the fate of the Sixth Army.” After 1945, Manstein claimed that he told Hitler that the 6th Army must break out. The American historian Gerhard Weinberg wrote that Manstein distorted his record on the matter. Manstein was tasked to conduct a relief operation, named Operation Winter Storm (Unternehmen Wintergewitter) against Stalingrad, which he thought was feasible if the 6th Army was temporarily supplied through the air. Adolf Hitler had declared in a public speech (in the Berlin Sportpalast) on 30 September 1942 that the German army would never leave the city. At a meeting shortly after the Soviet encirclement, German army chiefs pushed for an immediate breakout to a new line on the west of the Don, but Hitler was at his Bavarian retreat of Obersalzberg in Berchtesgaden with the head of the Luftwaffe, Hermann Göring. When asked by Hitler, Göring replied, after being convinced by Hans Jeschonnek, that the Luftwaffe could supply the 6th Army with an “air bridge.” This would allow the Germans in the city to fight on temporarily while a relief force was assembled. A similar plan had been used a year earlier at the Demyansk Pocket, albeit on a much smaller scale: a corps at Demyansk rather than an entire army.

The director of Luftflotte 4, Wolfram von Richthofen, tried to get this decision overturned. The forces under the 6th Army were almost twice as large as a regular German army unit, plus there was also a corps of the 4th Panzer Army trapped in the pocket. The maximum 107 t (118 short tons) they could deliver a day – based on the number of available aircraft and with only the airfield at Pitomnik to land at – was far less than the minimum 750 t (830 short tons) needed. To supplement the limited number of Junkers Ju 52 transports, the Germans pressed other aircraft into the role, such as the Heinkel He 177 bomber (some bombers performed adequately – the Heinkel He 111 proved to be quite capable and was much faster than the Ju 52). General Richthofen informed Manstein on 27 November of the small transport capacity of the Luftwaffe and the impossibility of supplying 300 tons a day by air. Manstein now saw the enormous technical difficulties of a supply by air of these dimensions. The next day he made a six-page situation report to the general staff. Based on the information of the expert Richthofen, he declared that contrary to the example of the pocket of Demyansk the permanent supply by air would be impossible. If only a narrow link could be established to Sixth Army, he proposed that this should be used to pull it out from the encirclement, and said that the Luftwaffe should instead of supplies deliver only enough ammunition and fuel for a breakout attempt. He acknowledged the heavy moral sacrifice that giving up Stalingrad would mean, but this would be made easier to bear by the conserving the combat power of Sixth Army and regaining the initiative. He ignored the limited mobility of the army and the difficulties of disengaging the Soviets. Hitler reiterated that Sixth Army would stay at Stalingrad and that the air bridge would supply it until the encirclement was broken by a new German offensive. Supplying the 270,000 men trapped in the “cauldron” required 700 tons of supplies a day. That would mean 350 Ju52 flights a day into Pitomnik. At a minimum, 500 tons were required. However, according to Adam, “On not one single day have the minimal essential number of tons of supplies been flown in.” The Luftwaffe was able to deliver an average of 85 t (94 short tons) of supplies per day out of an air transport capacity of 106 t (117 short tons) per day. The most successful day, 19 December, delivered 262 t (289 short tons) of supplies in 154 flights. The outcome of the airlift was the Luftwaffe's failure to provide its transport units with the tools they needed to maintain an adequate count of operational aircraft – tools that included airfield facilities, supplies, manpower, and even aircraft suited to the prevailing conditions. These factors, taken together, prevented the Luftwaffe from effectively employing the full potential of its transport forces, ensuring that they were unable to deliver the quantity of supplies needed to sustain the 6th Army. In the early parts of the operation, fuel was shipped at a higher priority than food and ammunition because of a belief that there would be a breakout from the city. Transport aircraft also evacuated technical specialists and sick or wounded personnel from the besieged enclave. Sources differ on the number flown out: at least 25,000 to at most 35,000. Carell: 42,000, of which 5000 did not survive.

Кандидат - Vladimir Putin - Netflix

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin (; Russian: Влади́мир Влади́мирович Пу́тин, IPA: [vɫɐˈdʲimʲɪr vɫɐˈdʲimʲɪrəvʲɪtɕ ˈputʲɪn] ( listen); born 7 October 1952) is a Russian statesman and former intelligence officer serving as President of Russia since 2012, previously holding the position from 2000 until 2008. He was Prime Minister of Russia from 1999 until the beginning of his first presidency in 2000, and again between presidencies from 2008 until 2012. During his first term as Prime Minister, he served as Acting President of Russia due to the resignation of President Boris Yeltsin. During his second term as Prime Minister, he was the chairman of the ruling United Russia party. Putin was born in Leningrad in the Soviet Union. He studied law at Leningrad State University, graduating in 1975. Putin was a KGB foreign intelligence officer for 16 years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before resigning in 1991 to enter politics in Saint Petersburg. He moved to Moscow in 1996 and joined President Boris Yeltsin's administration, rising quickly through the ranks and becoming Acting President on 31 December 1999, when Yeltsin resigned. Putin won the 2000 presidential election by a 53% to 30% margin, thus avoiding a runoff with his Communist Party of the Russian Federation opponent, Gennady Zyuganov. He was reelected president in 2004 with 72% of the vote. During his first presidency, the Russian economy grew for eight straight years, and GDP measured in purchasing power increased by 72%. The growth was a result of the 2000s commodities boom, high oil prices, and prudent economic and fiscal policies. Because of constitutionally mandated term limits, Putin was ineligible to run for a third consecutive presidential term in 2008. The 2008 presidential election was won by Dmitry Medvedev, who appointed Putin as Prime Minister, the beginning of what some opponents considered to be a period of “tandemocracy”. In September 2011, after presidential terms were extended from four to six years, Putin announced he would seek a third term as president. He won the March 2012 presidential election with 64% of the vote, a result which aligned with pre-election polling. Falling oil prices coupled with international sanctions imposed at the beginning of 2014 after Russia's annexation of Crimea and military intervention in Eastern Ukraine led to GDP shrinking by 3.7% in 2015, though the Russian economy rebounded in 2016 with 0.3% GDP growth and is officially out of the recession. Putin gained 76% of the March 2018 presidential vote and was re-elected for a six-year term that will end in 2024. Under Putin's leadership, Russia has scored poorly in Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index and experienced democratic backsliding according to both the Economist Intelligence Unit's Democracy Index and Freedom House's Freedom in the World index (including a record low 20/100 rating in the 2017 Freedom in the World report, a rating not given since the time of the Soviet Union). Western analysts no longer consider Russia to be a democracy. Human rights organizations and activists have accused Putin of persecuting political critics and activists, as well as ordering them tortured or assassinated; he has rejected accusations of human rights abuses. Officials of the United States government have accused him of leading an interference program against Hillary Clinton in support of Donald Trump during the U.S. presidential election in 2016, which both Trump and Putin have frequently denied and criticized. Putin has enjoyed high domestic approval ratings during his career (mostly above 70%) and received extensive international attention as one of the world's most powerful leaders.

Кандидат - 2014 financial crisis and economic downturn - Netflix

The ongoing financial crisis began in the second half of 2014 when the Russian ruble collapsed due to a decline in the price of oil and international sanctions against Russia. These events in turn led to loss of investor confidence and capital flight. Though it has also been argued that the sanctions had little to no effect on Russia's economy. Russia responded with its own sanctions against the West. Additionally, to compensate for the sanctions, Russia developed closer economic ties with Eastern countries. In October 2014, energy, trade and finance agreements with China worth $25 billion were signed. The following year, a $400-billion 30-year natural gas supply agreement was also signed with China.

Охотники за бриллиантами - Golden Eagle Award for Best Television Motion Picture (Russia) - Netflix

The Golden Eagle Award for Best Television Motion Picture (Russian: Золотой Орёл для лучший игровой телевизионный фильм) is one of twenty award categories presented annually by the National Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences of Russia. It is one of the Golden Eagle Awards, which were conceived by Nikita Mikhalkov as a counterweight to the annual Nika Awards given by the Russian Academy of Cinema Arts and Sciences. Each year the members of the academy choose three nominees from among television films (movies directly released to television), which have been popular in Russia since the 1950s because of their inexpensive production. The movies therefore typically have only Russian titles. The category excludes motion pictures and documentaries, which have their own categories. The first film to be awarded was Spetsnaz. The category was not awarded in 2004 and 2005. The name of the award was changed to Golden Eagle Award for Best Telefilm or Mini-Series (up to 10 series) in 2006, which merged mini-series, awarded in 2004 and 2005 in a separate category, with telefilms. Since then, the award has been won only by mini-series; no telefilms have received the prize. The most recent award in 2012 was made to Белая гвардия, which is based on Mikhail Bulgakov's The White Guard. Gleb Panfilov holds the record for the most wins, with 2; other people with multiple nominations are Andrey Malyokov (with one win and one nomination), Vladimir Bortko (ditto) and Yuri Moroz (with two nominations but no wins).

Ночные ласточки - Netflix

"Ночные ласточки" aka Notchnye Lastotchki (Night Swallows) is a Russian dramatic series about a group of Soviet women pilots who flew night harassment flights against the German Army during World War Two. During WW2, the Soviet Air force used female pilots to man obsolete PO-2 biplane trainers. These aircraft were first produced in 1928 and could only carry about 600 pounds of light bombs. They flew low level night time missions that were effective at depriving German troops of sleep etc. The German called the pilots "Night Witches". The Germans soon had their own version of these night harassment squadrons.

Всё к лучшему - Children-404 - Netflix

Children-404 is Russian LGBTI online community on Facebook and on the social networking site VK. The establisher of the community is Lena Klimova, a journalist based in the city of Nizhny Tagil. She is the author of a series of articles on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) teenagers and she published in 2014 a book on the topic. In 2013, she set up an online community on Facebook and on the social networking site VK named Children-404, which provides a space for teenagers to discuss LGBTI issues and support each other.

Всё к лучшему - Inception - Netflix

Lena Klimova, a young journalist from Ekaterinburg, published a series of articles critical of the parliamentary bills against “propaganda of homosexuality”. Afterwards she received an e-mail from a 15-year-old girl who said that she was being bullied by her classmates and her parents because of her homosexuality. The girl wrote that had been on the verge of suicide, but Klimova’s article had made her change her mind. After that Klimova started to research the lives of LGBT adolescents in Russia, and created an online survey. Within under two weeks Klimova had received over a hundred e-mail responses, and that is what made her resolve to create an online support project for LGBT teens. The project consists of two parts: a private “closed” group on the Russian social network VK, whose purpose is to offer psychological assistance to LGBT teens, and in which they can share their problems and get help from adult participants; and open projects on Facebook and VK which publish letters from teens. The popular Spanish newspaper El Mundo wrote the following about the “Children-404” Project in an article entitled “How dangerous to be homosexual in Russia”, writes: "The photos show young faces whose eyes are concealed by placards with the inscription “Children-404”. In numerous letters teens shout “We exist!” in protest against widespread intolerance".

Ramzan Akhmadovich Kadyrov (Russian: Рамза́н Ахма́тович Кады́ров, IPA: [rɐˈmzan ɐxˈmatəvʲɪtɕ kɐˈdɨrəf], Chechen: Къадар Ахьмат-кIант Рамзан Q̇adar Aẋmat-khant Ramzan; born 5 October 1976) is the Head of the Chechen Republic and a former member of the Chechen independence movement. He is the son of former Chechen President Akhmad Kadyrov, who was assassinated in May 2004. In February 2007, Kadyrov replaced Alu Alkhanov as President, shortly after he had turned 30, which is the minimum age for the post. He was engaged in violent power struggles with Chechen government warlords Sulim Yamadayev and Said-Magomed Kakiyev for overall military authority, and with Alkhanov for political authority. Ramzan Kadyrov is an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. He founded the Akhmat Fight Club and established an international annual freestyle wrestling tournament called the Ramzan Kadyrov & Adlan Varayev Cup. Since November 2015 he is a member of the Advisory Commission of the State Council of the Russian Federation. Over the years, he has come under criticism of international organisations for a wide array of human rights abuses under his watch, with Human Rights Watch calling the forced disappearances and torture so widespread they constituted crimes against humanity. He has also been criticized in Western press for his advocacy for restricted public lives for women, and a campaign of mass detention for those who are suspected to have engaged in homosexual behavior.

Один на всех - Threats to Russian police officers - Netflix

In 2015, Kadyrov ordered Chechen security forces to “shoot to kill” if they encountered police officers from other parts of Russia on the territory of the Chechen Republic. Kadyrov said: “I would like to officially state: Open fire if someone from Moscow or Stavropol — it doesn't matter where from — appears on your turf without your knowledge. We have to be reckoned with. … If you are masters of your territory, then you must control it.” According to Ekaterina Sokirianskaia, “Some critics claim that Mr. Putin now fears Mr. Kadyrov because he knows any serious attempt to challenge the Chechen leader’s position might lead to a third war.”

Последний рубеж - Deportation of Azerbaijanis from Armenia - Netflix

The deportation of Azerbaijanis from Armenia took place as an act of forced resettlement and ethnic cleansing throughout the 20th century. Prior to the October Revolution, Azerbaijanis had made up 43 percent of the population of Yerevan. The Tartar (i.e. Azerbaijani) population endured a process of forced migration from the territory of the First Republic of Armenia and later in the Armenian SSR several times during the 20th century. Under Stalin's policies, approximately 100,000 Azerbaijanis were deported from the Armenian SSR in 1948. Their houses were subsequently inhabited by Armenian repatriates who arrived in the Soviet Union from abroad.

Маски-шоу - Borotba - Netflix

The Association “Struggle” (Ukrainian: Об'єднання “Боротьба” Ob'yednannia “Boroťba”; Russian: Объединение “Боротьба”) is a left-wing organization operating in Odessa and Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Dnipropetrovsk in Ukraine.

Маски-шоу - Activities - Netflix

When the Euromaidan movement started in 2013, Borotba were critical of it from the outset. Some members of Borotba, including Dennis Levine, attempted to recruit protesters to the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions of Ukraine to fight against increased public transport costs in Kiev. According to Svetlana Tsiberganova, they were attacked by the far-right. Borotba's analysis of the authorities that replaced former President Viktor Yanukovych and the second Azarov government after the 2014 Ukrainian revolution on 22 February 2014 is that far-right nationalists received too much power and control over important ministries and agencies including defense, anti-corruption and national security, education, agriculture and the environment, as well as the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine. Borotba has condemned what they considered a “Western-backed” and “fascist” February 2014 coup in Kiev and called for a socialist revolution in Ukraine against the government of “ultra-nationalists and Nazis”. Borotba's members took an active role in political events in Kharkiv in March 2014. On March 15, Borotba, the “People’s Unity” and other groups called a public meeting in Kharkiv. Borotba joined Anti-Maidan protesters in storming the regional administration building, which at that time was occupied by pro-Maidan activists, and their members are accused by other Ukrainian left organisations for taking part in the beating of pro-Maidan activists, including anarchists and the well-known Ukrainian author Serhiy Zhadan. Borotba justified their action by calling the occupants members of Right Sector. On April 15, and May 8, 2014, Borotba's office in Kharkiv was raided by police. In Kharkiv, Borotba activists claim to have printed 100,000 leaflets and 10,000 posters persuading the voters to boycott the presidential election in May 2014, since they considered it unrepresentative, radical rightist, and illegitimate. On May Day, Borotba members staged a rally in Kovalska Street in Odessa. Later in May, Borotba joined other Anti-Maidan parties (Yury Apukhtin's “Southeast” movement, the Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine and the KPU) in rallying against the presidential elections. The leader of the Odessan regional organisation of Borotba, Aleksey Albu, fled to Russian-annexed Crimea, where he founded a “Committee for the Liberation of Odessa” on 24 May 2014 together with representatives of the Russian nationalist party Rodina and of the organization “Slavic Unity”. On September 12, a Borotba activist was arrested in Odessa by the Internal Security Service (SBU), under the accusation of terrorism.

Motto of the show "Aesthetics of the Soviet era: the life and dreams of the USSR!"

Description:

1922-1991 is not just a period of time, but an entire epoch with its own peculiarities, scientific discoveries, sport achievements, cultural phenomena. This era has left a legacy, which is still interesting and relevant. Someone is still nostalgic for his Soviet childhood spent in the pioneer camp. Someone at home keeps collections of stamps with Gagarin, porcelain Komsomol members and filings of the magazine Krokodil. Others revise the cheerful comedy of the thirties with Lubov Orlova and the post-war tales of Alexander Rowe. Everyone will find for themselves in the Soviet era something curious and fascinating.

"Made in the USSR" is a series of documentary programs dedicated to Soviet aesthetics and culture, everyday life of people and behind-the-scenes life of idols, high art and fleeting fashion.

Сделано в СССР - N.O.M. - Netflix

N.O.M. (also, NOM: Neformálnoye objedinénie molodiózhi, The Informal Youth Association) is a Soviet/Russian experimental rock band, formed in 1987 in Saint Petersburg (then Leningrad), known for its mix of art rock, ska, folklore, classical influences (including occasional bouts of operatic singing) and eccentric theatrical stage shows. N.O.M.'s national breakthrough came in the late 1980s when LenTV started playing the band's controversial videos. Short-time heroes of post-Perestroika alternative culture, N.O.M. have never been accepted neither by the massive pop/rock audiences, nor by the mainstream Russian media, but gathered a strong cult following. The band split into two in 1997, but the 2000s saw NOM-Zhir and NOM-Euro gradually reintegrating, the official reunion concert held on 20 April 2007 in the Saint Petersburg's “Port” Club.

Сделано в СССР - Breakthrough - Netflix

After the band's appearance at the Sixth Leningrad Rock Club Rock Festival critics classified them as the followers of AVIA, at this point a well-established conceptual art rock band. The parallel proved to be flawed, but the two bands bonded together. They embarked on the nation-wide tour and signed the humorously worded Molotov-Ribbentrop-type “non-aggression pact.” In 1989 the percussionist and performance artist Yuri Saltykov (aka Ivan Turist) joined the band, thus completing what is considered to be its classic line-up. With him the debut Брутто (Gross) album was recorded in the Dvoretz Molodiozhy Studios by producers Sergey Yelistratov and Andrey Novozhilov. Released two years later on the Leningrad Melodyia record label, it became an underground hit and made the band one of the most original phenomena of Peter[sburg]'s new rock scene. By this time N.O.M.'s musical language, initially fashioned in a rudimentary folk rock/cabaret style, started to harden and quickly evolved into a totally integral post-punk meets rhythm and blues kind of sound. After the Petersburg - Channel 5 and the nascent Moscow Vzglyad TV Show started playing the band's videos, its popularity grew rapidly. In 1990 N.O.M. toured Spain and France; in the course of the next five years they played in many European countries and performed at the Seventh Leningrad Rock Club Rock Festival.

Секунда до - Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening - Netflix

Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranate a Second Before Awakening (1944) is a surrealist painting by Salvador Dalí. A short, alternate title for the painting is Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee. It was painted in 1944, while Dalí and his wife, Gala, were living in America.

Секунда до - Themes and symbolism - Netflix

The bayonet, as a symbol of the stinging bee, may represent the woman's abrupt awakening from her otherwise peaceful dream. This is an example of Sigmund Freud's influence on surrealist art and Dalí's attempts to explore the world of dreams in a dreamscape. The elephant is a distorted version of the Piazza della Minerva sculpture Elephant and Obelisk by Gian Lorenzo Bernini facing the church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome. The smaller pomegranate floating between two droplets of water may symbolize Venus, especially because of the heart-shaped shadow it casts. It may also be used as a Christian symbol of fertility and resurrection. This female symbolism may contrast with the phallic symbolism of the threatening creatures. It has also been suggested that the painting is “a surrealist interpretation of the Theory of Evolution.” In 1962, Dalí said this painting was intended “to express for the first time in images Freud's discovery of the typical dream with a lengthy narrative, the consequence of the instantaneousness of a chance event which causes the sleeper to wake up. Thus, as a bar might fall on the neck of a sleeping person, causing them to wake up and for a long dream to end with the guillotine blade falling on them, the noise of the bee here provokes the sensation of the sting which will awaken Gala.” The guillotine anecdote refers to a dream reported by Alfred Maury in Le sommeil et les rêves (“Sleep and Dreams”) and related by Freud in The Interpretation of Dreams.

Ukraine (Ukrainian: Україна, translit. Ukrayina; Ukrainian pronunciation: [ukrɑˈjinɑ]), sometimes called the Ukraine, is a sovereign state in Eastern Europe, bordered by Russia to the east and northeast; Belarus to the northwest; Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia to the west; Romania and Moldova to the southwest; and the Black Sea and Sea of Azov to the south and southeast, respectively. Ukraine is currently in a territorial dispute with Russia over the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014 and now administers as two federal subjects of the Russian federation, but which Ukraine and most of the international community continue to recognise as Ukrainian. Including Crimea, Ukraine has an area of 603,628 km2 (233,062 sq mi), making it the largest country entirely within Europe and the 46th largest country in the world. Excluding Crimea, Ukraine has a population of about 42.5 million, making it the 32nd most populous country in the world. The territory of modern Ukraine has been inhabited since 32,000 BC. During the Middle Ages, the area was a key centre of East Slavic culture, with the powerful state of Kievan Rus' forming the basis of Ukrainian identity. Following its fragmentation in the 13th century, the territory was contested, ruled and divided by a variety of powers, including Lithuania, Poland, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire and Russia. A Cossack republic emerged and prospered during the 17th and 18th centuries, but its territory was eventually split between Poland and the Russian Empire, and finally merged fully into the Russian-dominated Soviet Union in the late 1940s. During the 20th century three periods of independence occurred. The first of these periods occurred briefly during and immediately after the German occupation near the end of World War I and the second occurred, also briefly, and also during German occupation, during World War II. However, both of these first two earlier periods would eventually see Ukraine's territories consolidated back into a constituent republic within the Soviet Union. The third period of independence began in 1991, when Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union in the aftermath of its dissolution at the end of the Cold War. Ukraine has maintained its independence as a sovereign state ever since. Before its independence, Ukraine was typically referred to in English as “The Ukraine”, but sources since then have moved to drop “the” from the name of Ukraine in all uses. Following its independence, Ukraine declared itself a neutral state. Nonetheless it formed a limited military partnership with the Russian Federation and other CIS countries and a partnership with NATO in 1994. In the 2000s, the government began leaning towards NATO, and a deeper cooperation with the alliance was set by the NATO-Ukraine Action Plan signed in 2002. It was later agreed that the question of joining NATO should be answered by a national referendum at some point in the future. Former President Viktor Yanukovych considered the current level of co-operation between Ukraine and NATO sufficient, and was against Ukraine joining NATO. In 2013, after the government of President Yanukovych had decided to suspend the Ukraine-European Union Association Agreement and seek closer economic ties with Russia, a several-months-long wave of demonstrations and protests known as the Euromaidan began, which later escalated into the 2014 Ukrainian revolution that led to the overthrow of President Yanukovych and his cabinet and the establishment of a new government. These events formed the background for the annexation of Crimea by Russia in March 2014, and the War in Donbass in April 2014. On 1 January 2016, Ukraine applied the economic part of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the European Union. Ukraine has long been a global breadbasket because of its extensive, fertile farmlands and is one of the world's largest grain exporters. The diversified economy of Ukraine includes a large heavy industry sector, particularly in aerospace and industrial equipment. Ukraine is a unitary republic under a semi-presidential system with separate powers: legislative, executive and judicial branches. Its capital and largest city is Kiev. Taking into account reserves and paramilitary personnel, Ukraine maintains the second-largest military in Europe after that of Russia. The country is home to 42.5 million people (excluding Crimea), 77.8 percent of whom are Ukrainians “by ethnicity”, followed by a sizeable minority of Russians (17.3 percent) as well as Georgians, Romanians/Moldovans, Belarusians, Crimean Tatars, Bulgarians and Hungarians. Ukrainian is the official language and its alphabet is Cyrillic. The dominant religions in the country are Eastern Orthodoxy and Greek Catholicism, which have strongly influenced Ukrainian architecture, literature and music. It is a member of the United Nations since its founding, the Council of Europe, OSCE, GUAM, and one of the founding states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Закон - Western Ukraine, Carpathian Ruthenia and Bukovina - Netflix

The war in Ukraine continued for another two years; by 1921, however, most of Ukraine had been taken over by the Soviet Union, while Galicia and Volhynia (West Ukraine) were incorporated into independent Poland. Bukovina was annexed by Romania and Carpathian Ruthenia was admitted to the Czechoslovak Republic as an autonomy.

A powerful underground Ukrainian nationalist movement arose in Poland in the 1920s and 1930s because of Polish national policies, which was led by the Ukrainian Military Organization and the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN). The movement attracted a militant following among students. Hostilities between Polish state authorities and the popular movement led to a substantial number of fatalities, and the autonomy which had been promised was never implemented. A number of Ukrainian parties, the Ukrainian Catholic Church, an active press, and a business sector existed in Poland. Economic conditions improved in the 1920s, but the region suffered from the Great Depression in the 1930s.

1941, 1942, 1943 - 1st Panzer Army - Netflix

The 1st Panzer Army (German: 1. Panzerarmee) was a German tank army which was a large armoured formation of the Wehrmacht during World War II. When originally formed on 1 March 1940, the 1st Panzer Army was named Panzer Group Kleist (Panzergruppe Kleist) with Colonel General Ewald von Kleist in command.

1941, 1942, 1943 - 1945 - Netflix

During its existence, from October 1941 to May 1945, the First Panzer Army spent its entire time on the Eastern Front. In the spring of 1945, the First Panzer Army's main task was to defend the Ostrava region in the north of Moravia, which was at the time the last large industrial area in the hands of Third Reich. There the First Panzer Army was facing the advance of 4th Ukrainian Front from north-east (Ostrava-Opava-Operation, 10 March – 5 May 1945) and had lost most of its heavy and medium tanks. At the same time however the Panzer Army was flanked by the 2nd Ukrainian Front from the south (Bratislava-Brno Operation, 25 March – 5 May 1945). German defensive lines finally collapsed in the early hours of Prague Offensive. The staff of First Panzer Army, along with other commands subordinated to Army Group Center, surrendered to the Soviet forces on 9 May 1945 in the area of Deutsch-Brod, while the remnants of its Panzer-units were scattered and captured all the way from Olomouc to Vysočina Region. Its last commander was general Walter Nehring, who abandoned his staff and fled south to surrender to the American forces.

Восьмидесятые - Georgy Kiesewalter - Netflix

Georgy Kiesewalter (Russian: Георгий Кизевальтер, b. 1955 in Moscow) is a Russian conceptual artist, photographer and essayist. As an artist, he uses a wide range of media to communicate his concepts to the public —– from painting to graphic art, from installations to conceptual photography and digital art.

Восьмидесятые - Biography - Netflix

Georgy's ancestors were German – hence the surname, but due to his Russian origin, it has been often erroneously anglicized just as Kizevalter or Kisevalter. He graduated from Moscow Lenin Pedagogical Institute in 1977. In 1976-89, he was one of the original members of the Russian conceptual performance group Collective Actions. In the mid 1970s – 1980s, he was very close to the circle of artists like Ilya Kabakov, Viktor Pivovarov, Erik Bulatov, Ivan Chuikov et al., and actively participated in such unofficial artistic formations of the time as the AptArt movement, the Moscow Archive of New Art (MANI), and the Avantgardists' Club in Moscow. In 1996, he decided to move to Canada, but returned to Russia at the end of 2006. In the early 1990s, Kiesewalter arranged a number of broadcasts on arts and culture issues on Radio Liberty in Munich, Germany. He is also the author or co-author of several books and many articles on contemporary art and photography published in Russia. In 1997, he received an Open Society Institute grant to help publish his first book about Moscow's unofficial artists, The Communal Body of Moscow. His works can be found in many private and institutional collections, including the Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and the Duke University Museum of Art (USA), Kunstmuseum in Bern, Switzerland, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; the National Centre for Contemporary Arts, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and Ekaterina Cultural Foundation (all in Moscow), the Kolodzei Art Foundation (New Jersey – Moscow), and many others.

Пандора - Noon Universe - Netflix

The Noon Universe (Russian term: “Мир Полудня” or “Мир Полдня” – “World of Noon”) is a fictional future setting for a number of hard science fiction novels written by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky. The universe is named after Noon: 22nd Century, chronologically the first novel from the series. According to Arkady Strugatsky, at first, the brothers did not make a conscious effort to create a fictional universe. Rather, they reused characters and settings from prior works whenever they found it convenient. It wasn't until later that they began drawing on common themes and plot threads from various novels to create newer works.

TNT (Means: Your New Television. Russian: ТНТ, Твоё Новое Телевидение, Tvoyo Novoye Televideniye, or Television of new Millennium (Russian: ТНТ, Телевидение нового тысячелетия, Televideniye Novogo Tisyachelyetiya)) is a Russian federal TV channel founded in 1997 and considered one of the five most popular TV channels in Russia. In the beginning of 2012, it reached more than 104 million people. The target audience is viewers 14 to 44 years old, but its core demo is 18 to 30. The channel focuses on entertainment, specializing mostly on TV shows and comedy series. Since 2001, it has been member of the Gazprom-Media Holding, the flagship TV channel of the sub-holding Gazprom-Media Entertainment TV, founded in 2015.

The TNT business model is a television network. Its main source of income is advertisements. The TV signal passes through a system of the TNT’s regional TV stations as well as to the company’s regional partners. Those, in turn, get part of the advertising time within the framework of the content provided by TNT. The TNT channel delivers its signal via a number of satellites in four different orbits that allow its 27 television stations and more than 350 subdivisions to receive it in the corresponding time zones. The TNT signal is then received and further redistributed by the local network stations broadcasting to most big cities as well as 5,900 smaller communities of the Russian Federation. TNT reserves 100% of authors’ rights to all original shows and owns two of the largest production companies in the country: Comedy Club Production and Good Story Media. It also has exclusive contracts with a number of leading Russian showrunners. Интерны - 2006–2007 - Netflix

The new 2006–07 season was started not in September, in the usual way, but in July, wishing to attract the attention of the 30+ audience, which continues watching TV in their summer cottages. In order to expand its reality show concept, a number of new programs, attributed by the channel's management to this type of shows, were introduced into the broadcast grid. Those were “The Candidate” with Vladimir Potanin, “Nanny to the rescue”, “Club of former wives”, “Wife exchange”, "A different life». According to the former general director of the channel Roman Petrenko, by that time TNT specialists “had studied almost the entire experience of the TV companies of all around the world and picked up the ideas seeming to have a greater potential, as well and even hired some British producers: At the same time, the channel managers began to publicly announce their dissatisfaction with the “boring” project “Dom-2”, and came up with the idea to give it up for one or two seasons, despite its record ratings. However, none of the new programs was able to reach the popularity of “Dom-2”, and in 2017 the project still remains on air, having become the longest-lasting reality show on the Russian television according to the version of the “Book of Records of Russia”. In March 2006, a comedy series named “Happy Together” was aired, which was an adaptation of the American sitcom “Married... with Children”. Lasting for 7 years, the series became the most “long-lasting” one as well as one of the most successful sitcoms on TNT. On November 4, 2006 the project “Nasha Russia” was launched (which actually turned out to be a copy of the popular English sketch series “Little Britain”). It is a humorous TV-show shot by “Comedy Club Production” with Mikhail Galustyan and Sergei Svetlakov in the leading roles. The show was very popular, some jokes of its characters became extremely popular among the people, and the characters themselves turned into symbols (for example, Ravshan and Dzhamshut - foreign workers having come to Russia). There appeared 5 seasons, in 2016 (5 years after the completion of the original series) it was followed by a spin-off called “The Bearded Guy. Understand and forgive”, developing one of the storylines of “Nasha Russia”, starring Mikhail Galustyan in the role of an unlucky Ryazan guard Sashka Borodach. This character also actually became notorious among the people, having become a symbol of a negligent worker. Also in November, the TNT style itself was updated: the channel started promoting the people, directly or indirectly connected with it (i.e. the hosts, the actors from TV series, the members of the reality show “Dom-2” and the professionals of the “Comedy Club”. Social movie clips, show and advertisement openings with slogans: "TNT about life. TNT about love. TNT for fun “were launched simultaneously within a monthly advertising campaign throughout Russia. The autumn advertising campaign was then followed by a spring one, becoming more extensive, held under the slogan “Feel our love”. According to its inspirer, Alexander Dulerain, “in the entire new advertising history, we wanted to overturn all the concepts familiar to the viewer, to shock him.” In a series of short promo-commercials, advertising the “stars” of the TNT (Ksenia Sobchak, Olga Buzova, Alyona Vodonaeva, Garik Kharlamov, Timur Rodriguez, Pavel Volya and Mikhail Galustyan) – the multiple meanings of some phrases were played with, while trying to keep a delicate balance between glamorous romance and provocative humor. 2007 was the year of birth of a new TV format - competitions of humorists and whole stand-up teams. In April, there started a show named “Laughter without rules”, organized by the “Comedy Club”. Young humorists competed for large money prizes, and then the winner competed in the following show - “A Crazy League.” The show “Laughter without rules” lasted for 10 seasons, the last program was released in December 2009 in the recording, after the death of one of its hosts – Vladimir Turchinsky. In August 2010, the show was restored under the title “Comedy Battle” and is dedicated to the memory of Turchinsky. The show continued until the end of 2016, and the following year it was replaced by the program “The Open Microphone”. In 2007, for the first time the TNT got the title of the “Best TV Channel of the Year” according to the version of “Russian Entertainment Awards” (an annual national award in the field of entertainment industry).

Восток-Запад - Separatist forces of the war in Donbass - Netflix

Separatist forces of the War in Donbass, or the United Armed Forces of Novorossiya (Russian: Объединённые Вооруженные Силы Новороссии; acronym NAF) is the umbrella name for the militias and armed volunteer groups affiliated with the unrecognized political union called Novorossiya (New Russia). It consists of the Donbass People's Militia, the Luhansk People's Militia and autonomous armed groups. They are regarded as terrorist groups by the Government of Ukraine. The Donbass People's Militia was formed by Pavel Gubarev, who was elected “People's Governor” of Donetsk Oblast by pro-Russian protesters. It was originally involved in taking control of Ukrainian government buildings in the Donetsk oblast. Tensions increased to the point of the militia being actively involved in fighting a war against the Ukrainian government in the Donbass region of Ukraine. The militia was accused by the Ukrainian government of culpability in the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 on 17 July 2014, but the Donetsk People's Republic disputed this claim. The militias of the Donetsk People's Republic and Luhansk People's Republic, merged into one group on 16 September 2014, forming the “United Armed Forces of Novorossiya”. It is widely believed that the separatists are supported by Russian armed forces. Although the Russian government often denies direct involvement stating that their soldiers were there voluntarily and not under orders, some of them were detained riding their combat vehicles with documents proving their origin in Russian armed forces. A college director at the Donetsk Academy of Motor Transport living under the Donetsk People's Republic has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for taking pictures of Russian vehicles in Eastern Ukraine, under the accounts of “spying”. Moreover, separatists admitted receiving supplies from Russia and being trained there. BBC reported that separatist ranks are composed of thousands of Russian citizens, and NATO accused Russia of deploying their regular troops into Ukraine. Registered Cossacks of the Russian Federation have been reported to be supporting separatists in the conflict as well. Head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, claimed in August 2014 that there are around 3,000 to 4,000 Russian volunteers fighting for the militia, which includes current and many retired Russian Army servicemen.

U.S. Department of State representative Richard Boucher said in interview to The Guardian: “There's a strong appearance of political pressure in the judicial process against the independent media. Press freedom and the rule of law can be best served by keeping TV-6 on the air”. CEO of VID Larisa Sinelshchikova described the situation as “a conflict between owners, rather than a political issue”, adding that “the closure of the TV channel is a measure of last resort pointing to the professional failure of the channel’s management and that of its owner”. Deputy Chair of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Alexander Ponomaryov suggested that “a solution would have to be found, so that viewers could keep watching the channel and journalists could do their job”.

Garry Kimovich Kasparov (Russian: Га́рри Ки́мович Каспа́ров, Russian pronunciation: [ˈɡarʲɪ ˈkʲiməvʲɪtɕ kɐˈsparəf]; Armenian: Գարրի Կիմովիչ Կասպարով; born Garik Kimovich Weinstein, 13 April 1963) is a Russian chess grandmaster, former world chess champion, writer, and political activist, who many consider to be the greatest chess player of all time. From 1986 until his retirement in 2005, Kasparov was ranked world No. 1 for 225 out of 228 months. His peak rating of 2851, achieved in 1999, was the highest recorded until being surpassed by Magnus Carlsen in 2013. Kasparov also holds records for consecutive professional tournament victories (15) and Chess Oscars (11). Kasparov became the youngest ever undisputed World Chess Champion in 1985 at age 22 by defeating then-champion Anatoly Karpov. He held the official FIDE world title until 1993, when a dispute with FIDE led him to set up a rival organization, the Professional Chess Association. In 1997 he became the first world champion to lose a match to a computer under standard time controls, when he lost to the IBM supercomputer Deep Blue in a highly publicized match. He continued to hold the “Classical” World Chess Championship until his defeat by Vladimir Kramnik in 2000. In spite of losing the title, he continued winning tournaments and was the world's highest-rated player when he retired from professional chess in 2005. After Kasparov retired, he devoted his time to politics and writing. He formed the United Civil Front movement, and joined as a member of The Other Russia, a coalition opposing the administration and policies of Vladimir Putin. In 2008, he announced an intention to run as a candidate in that year's Russian presidential race, but failure to find a sufficiently large rental space to assemble the number of supporters that is legally required to endorse such a candidacy led him to withdraw. Kasparov blamed “official obstruction” for the lack of available space. Although he is widely regarded in the West as a symbol of opposition to Putin, he was barred from the presidential ballot, as the political climate in Russia makes it difficult for opposition candidates to organize. He is currently chairman for the Human Rights Foundation and chairs its International Council. Kasparov is a frequent critic of U.S. professor emeritus of Russian studies Stephen F. Cohen, whom he describes as a Soviet and Russian apologist. Kasparov and Cohen participated in a Munk Debate in 2015 over the issue of reengaging or isolating Russia, with 52% of the audience siding with Kasparov's argument of isolating Russia, compared to 42% before the debate. In 2014, he obtained Croatian citizenship. He lives in New York City and travels often.

The organizers of the revolt, later called the Decembrists, were arrested and accused of high treason. Five of them were sentenced to death by hanging, the others condemned to penal servitude. Although the plot was a complete failure, it was to have an important and lasting effect on social and economic life in Russia for at least the next fifty years.

Russia has a long history of Anti-Americanism, dating back to the early days of the Cold War. In some of the latest Russian population polls, the United States and its allies consistently top the list of greatest enemies.

Дело декабристов - US as global social and economic parasite - Netflix

According to many Russian scholars, government officials as well as media, economic prosperity and wellbeing of United States is solely based on unfair advantages gained from US dollar's reserve currency status, dollarization of other countries economies, along with neocolonial wars for resources and predatory macroeconomic behavior.Proponents of the view:High ranked government officials Vladimir Putin, in August 2011, accused the US of living like parasite off the global economy and the monopoly of the dollar. Member of Parliament from United Russia, Yevgeni Fedorov (rus: Евгений Федоров) believes that for decades, the US has been violating Russia's sovereignty and claims that currently, Russia is disgracefully paying tribute money to the “empire”. In 2012, he drafted a bill to ban the Russian government from investing oil profits into US dollar-denominated securities or any other foreign currency. Media Economist and the president of Different Reforms Center (rus: центр Другие реформы), Andrey Godzinskiy (rus: Андрей Годзинский): believes that Russia is currently being economically occupied and that the US dollar is ultimate tool. Popular Pundit and a host of “Odnako” TV program on Russian national network Channel One, Mikhail Leontyev, from 2008 to 2011, Leontyev created a series of documentaries, “Big American Hole”. In the films, popular pundit claims that American economic prosperity is solely based on predatory economic behavior, which is supported only by military might. The documentaries explicitly state that the latest US wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were purely the wars for resources. Along with author, many guests and participants in the films, also claim that the US is getting great benefits from dollarization of various countries' economies, possible only by intimidation of countries by US military might. Journalist and filmmaker Ilya Kolosov (rus: Илья Колосов), in cooperation with Andrey Godzinskiy, from 2006 to 2009, created a series of documentaries called “Priceless Dollar” (rus: “Бесценный Доллар”). Authors claim that after World War II, U.S. has cunningly gained unfair economic advantage by exploiting the dollar as a reserve currency. Journalists also claim that US has been deliberately running big trade deficits for unfairly consuming goods produced by other countries and paying for them with allegedly worthless dollars. The documentaries have been showcased on TV Tsentr Academia Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), on December 19, 2013, held a conference titled “Global social parasitism (100 years to U.S. Federal Reserve System)” (rus: “Глобальный социальный паразитизм (к 100-летию Федеральной Резервной Системы США))”. The agenda of the conference was to discuss broad range of issues centered around global parasitic behavior of the US, global financial institutes such as IMF, World Bank and Fed serving that behavior, as well as the imminent collapse of dollarized economies. He directed several student films, co-directed a documentary, and was the author of numerous screenplays, both for his own films and for those of other directors. He directed two stage plays and one radio production, played minor acting roles in several films, and wrote a book on film theory. His last film produced in the Soviet Union was Stalker in 1979. During his time in the Soviet Union he wrote several screenplays for films he ultimately did not realize. He also contributed towards the productions of several films by other directors, as screenwriter, actor, film editor and artistic advisor. His last film The Sacrifice was produced in Sweden, shortly before his death.

Любить нельзя ненавидеть - Russian grammar - Netflix

Russian grammar employs an Indo-European inflexional structure, with considerable adaptation. Russian has a highly inflexional morphology, particularly in nominals (nouns, pronouns, adjectives and numerals). Russian literary syntax is a combination of a Church Slavonic heritage, a variety of loaned and adopted constructs, and a standardized vernacular foundation. The spoken language has been influenced by the literary one, with some additional characteristic forms. Russian dialects show various non-standard grammatical features, some of which are archaisms or descendants of old forms discarded by the literary language. Note: In the discussion below, various terms are used in the meaning they have in standard Russian discussions of historical grammar. In particular, aorist, imperfect, etc., are considered verbal tenses rather than aspects, because ancient examples of them are attested for both perfective and imperfective verbs.

Khil became known to international audiences in 2010, when a 1976 recording of him singing a non-lexical vocable version of the song “I Am Very Glad, as I'm Finally Returning Back Home” (Russian: Я о́чень рад, ведь я, наконе́ц, возвраща́юсь домо́й, tr. Ya ochen rad, ved ya, nakonets, vozvrashchajus domoy) became an Internet meme, often referred to as “Trololol” or “Trololo”, as an onomatopoeia of the song, or as the “Russian Rickroll”, and as such, the song was commonly associated with Internet trolling. The song's newfound prominence in Internet culture led him to adopt Mr. Trololo as a stage name.

Расплата - Alexander Sergeychik - Netflix

Alexander Vasilyevich Sergeychik (Belarusian: Аляксандар Васільевіч Сяргейчык; born in 1970 in Semyonovka village, Byerastavitsa District, BSSR — died November 26, 2007, Minsk, Belarus) was a Belarusian serial killer who committed his crimes between 2000 and 2006 in the territory of Shchuchyn District and Grodno District. He confessed to a total of twelve people, however, the investigation could only prove six of them. He was sentenced to death by the court.

Расплата - Crimes - Netflix

Alexander Sergeychik committed his first crime on Septepmber 18, 1992, having stolen a trailer on the collective farm “Oktyabr”, after which he began to open up the garages, stealing several cars with the purpose of selling their parts and stealing property from private garages. As a result, he managed to get a hunter carbine, found in one of the garages, in addition to a Walther PP pistol and several dummy grenades. During the investigation it was found out that in just 14 years Sergeychik had stolen property for 900 thousand dollars. He committed his first murder in April 2000, when he picked up 21-year old Helen Boltak by car as a traveling companion, driving her 76 squares in the Shchuchyn District forest, where he drank a bottle of alcohol prepared beforehand, engaged in sexual intercourse with the girl, and when she lost consciousness, he strangled her, then doused her with gasoline and lit it on fire after taking all her jewelry and cash. In June 2000, Sergeychik came to the apartament of his 31-year old mistress, the head of the warehouse of the Shchuchyn Meat Processing Plant Svetlana Pyrskaya. After a quarrel with her about divorcing his wife Alexander, according to his own words “in a fit of anger” and “under the influence of alcohol”, strangled the woman with a TV cable, then staged her suicide by hanging her in the bathroom, after which he took all the cash from the apartament that he could find. The next crime Sergeychik did was in late July 2000. After acquainting himself with 19-year old Lyudmila Kodik, the murderer took her out on the pretext of resting on the bank of the Neman river, where he drank alcohol with the victim, engaged in sex with her, after which, after a severe beating, strangled her with a rope prepared in advance and dropped the body into the river. After that Sergeychik robbed the victim's bag, taking the victim's apartament keys, which he then also ransacked, stealing all money in addition to several orders of the deceased veteran who previously had resided in the apartament. In 2001, Sergeychik did not commit any murder, but beat several detainees for drinking alcohol in public places. The next murder he committed was in September 2002, along with his accomplice, his 18-year old nephew Dmitry Barkov. Initially, the criminals drove a car several hours along the streets of Grodno in search of a suitable victim, but without finding anyone, they drove out of town, where they saw a VAZ-2106 zhigula parked near the roadside. After that, stopping the car nearby, Sergeychik and Barkov, armed with Alexander's pistol, approached the car. Sergeychik knocked on the driver's door, after which he demanded that the driver, Viktor Syrytsya, give the keys to the car, presenting his service certificate. The driver was shot in the head through the windshield, but survived. Then Sergeychik and Barkov dragged the seriously injured Syrytsya away from the car and beat him to death. The girl who was at the passenger seat, Syrenitsa Elena Turchennik, tried to escape, but Barkov noticed her and, after catching up to her, seriously beat her and dragged her to the car. Both criminals then took turns raping her, before Sergeychik strangled her with a cable. They robbed the victims afterwards, tied the corpses with a car cable and left them in the trunk of the car. In November 2003, Sergeychik, while on duty, beat up a detainee in the workplace and used a gas canister against him, as a result of which he had to call for an ambulance, but then the case was “hushed up”. In February 2005, Sergeychik, in a state of intoxication, quarreled with his wife and came to the mistress of his married police friend Malyshko V.C. - Natalia Basis. Earlier Malyshko and Sergeychik had drank alcohol at her Basis'. However, after several hours Sergeychik returned to the apartament, where he beat up the landlady, then raped her, strangling her with her bra and leaving the corpse in the bathroom. Having stolen valuable items from the apartament, he fled the crime scene.

Коммуналка - Communal apartment - Netflix

Communal apartments (singular: Russian: коммуналка, коммунальная квартира, kommunalka, kommunal'naya kvartira) appeared in Tsarist Russia. The term communal apartments is a product of the Soviet epoch. The concept of communal apartments' grew in Russia and the Soviet Union as a response to a housing crisis in urban areas – authorities presented them as the product of the “new collective vision of the future.” Between two and seven families typically shared a communal apartment. Each family had its own room, which often served as a living room, dining room, and bedroom for the entire family. All the residents of the entire apartment shared the use of the hallways, kitchen (commonly known as the “communal kitchen”), bathroom and telephone (if any). The communal apartment became the predominant form of housing in the USSR for generations, and examples still exist in “the most fashionable central districts of large Russian cities”.

Коммуналка - The fall of the communal apartment - Netflix

After Stalin’s death in 1953, Khrushchev’s regime “embarked upon a mass housing campaign,” to eliminate the persistent housing shortages, and create private apartments for urban residents. This campaign was a response to popular demand for “better living conditions, single-family housing, and greater privacy;” Khrushchev believed that granting the people private apartments would give them greater enthusiasm for the communist system in place and that improving people’s attitudes and living conditions would lead to a healthier and more productive workforce. However, the new apartments were built quickly, with an emphasis on quantity over quality, and in underdeveloped neighborhoods, with poor systems of public transportation, making daily life harder for workers. These apartment blocks quickly became called ‘khrushchyovka,’ a cross between Khrushchev’s name and the Russian term for slums.

The 2S35 was initially reported as being based on the Armata Universal Combat Platform, which in the case of the T-14 Armata and T-15 has seven road wheels. However, the 2S35's on display during the 2015 Moscow Victory Day Parade and its rehearsals are not built on the Armata platform but rather on a six-wheeled platform that appears to be a T-90 derived chassis, and later production variants are expected to be based on the unified Armata chassis.

Мистические истории - Bald–hairy - Netflix

Bald–hairy (Russian: лысый–волосатый) is a common joke in Russian political discourse, referring to the empirical rule of the state leaders' succession defined as a change of a bald leader to a hairy one and vice versa. This consistent pattern can be traced back until as early as 1825, when Nicholas I succeeded his late brother Alexander as the Russian Emperor. Nicholas I's son Alexander II formed the first “bald–hairy” pair of the sequence with his father. The current “bald–hairy” pair of Russian rulers are the balding Vladimir Putin and the hairy Dmitry Medvedev (who has a full head of hair). Putin was the president from 2000 until 2008; Medvedev held the post until 2012, whereupon Putin became president again.

Continuous: no yesterday and tomorrow. Only here and now. Sometimes the action takes place on the verge of fantasy and reality. And often the fantasies are much more realistic than real life. Black Room, or, as they say theater goers black cabinet - a space in which nothing can be seen until the light will light. Танцуй! - Diskoteka Avariya - Netflix

Diskoteka “Avaria” (Russian: Дискотека “Авария” - Disco “Crash”) are a Russian band from Ivanovo, Russia. The trio consists of Anna Khokhlova (Анна Хохлова), Aleksey Borisovich Serov (Алексей Борисович Серов) and Aleksey Olegovich Ryzhov (Алексей Олегович Рыжов). Its former members include vocalist Nikolay Stagoranovich Timofeev (Николай Стагоранович Тимофеев), who left in July 2012, and rapper Oleg Yevgenyevich Zhukov (Олег Евгеньевич Жуков), who died on February 9, 2002 of cancer. Although “Avaria” knew only moderate success in Russia during the 1990s, they are considered to be pioneers of house music in that country, as the genre only started to appear there around 2000. Following Zhukov's death in 2002, the trio slowly lost original popularity and oriented themselves into a mainstream electropop movement.

Танцуй! - The origins - Netflix

Towards the end of the eighties Nikolay Timofeev and Alexey Ryzhov met in high school. Both being creative minds with good sense of humor, they started creating humorous material. After being noticed at a KVN (Клуб Весёлых и Находчивых, Klub Vesyolyh i Nahodchivyh, Club of Funny and Smart, is a Russian TV show, a humor contest, which indirectly spanned similar contests in schools, independent from the show), they started receiving invitations to provide entertainment at parties. Timofeev and Ryzhov's first intended musical direction was rock. At a summer camp, they created a very short lived rock band called “Огнетушитель” (Ognetushitel, “Fire extinguisher”). But both of them lacked money to buy instruments and various equipment to play rock professionally, so they had to make some money. The duo started emceeing at local clubs and liked it. During college years, the duo was involved with another short lived band called “Interview”. Also, Timofeev and Ryzhov were invited to a local radio station to make their own radioshow. During that period of time, the duo started putting sketches in some songs: whenever a famous song had a part void of lyrics, they put some of their own rap into it. This was later to become their trademark in their early songs. Meanwhile, the band was asked to perform in a local club called “Электрон” (“Electron”). Noticing the bad state of their club, they dubbed it “Disaster Disco”. After a few fixing, the rating of their club went uphill as it became more and more famous.
