The house was located in Bogotá, Colombia. 18 housemates entered the house and the winner was Juan Sebastián and the finalist was Leito. There are no plans for a second season.

Gran Hermano - Nominations Table - Netflix

Notes:%5E1 The maximum number of Housemates that can be Nominated at any one time is three. If there is a tie the Housemate with the most Nominations so far in the game is Nominated. This Week Leito (6) and Pamela (6) were Nominated, and Gabriela, José and Juan drew next with 3 each. José had the most Nominations so far (including all Weeks) and was hence Nominated. However, last Week's Evictee Roberto was given the chance to save one of the Nominated Housemates and chose to save José, meaning that Gabriela took up his place in the Nomination line-up.^2 Claudio, Juan and Leito were initially Nominated, however Pamela saved Juan and José dropped into his place.^3 This Week Housemates Nominated in four teams of three. Teams were as follows: Bertha, Jarén and Leito (Yellow Team), Gabriela, Juan and Romina (Blue Team), Gianmarco, Jessica and Teobaldo (Purple Team) and José, Liliana and Viviana (Orange Team). Each team Nominated together, and their two Nominations counted for just one point each. Bethra, José and Juan were Nominated, and evictee Claudio decided not to save any of them.^4 José, Leito and Viviana were initially Nominated. Evictee Betha saved Leito, and Teobaldo took her place with the next highest number of Nominations (3).^5 This Week the first four Evictees (Bertha, Claudio, Pamela and Roberto) were allowed one Nomination each. They chose Toebaldo (Bertha), Viviana (Claudio), Gianmarco (Pamela) and Liliana (Roberto). Gianmarco, Juan and Leito were initially Nominated, but José-Luis (Evictee number five) chose to save Gianmarco, and Viviana took their place.^6 Gianmarco, Leito and Liliana were initially nominated, however Viviana saved Leito and Juan took their place.^7 This Week the Housemates Nominated in eight groups of two, depending upon with of the Pacifico countries they came from. Each Housemate nominated twice, in two different pairs. Gianmarco, Jarén and Juan Sebastián were Nominated, and Evitee Liliana chose not to save any of them.^8 Shortly following Liliana's Eviction three new Housemates (Augusto, Katia and Kattya) moved into the Secret Garden. Jessica had to Evict one of them, and chose Katia.^9 Jarén, Leito and Teobaldo were initially Nominated, and as Gianmarco chose not to save any of them, they all faced the Public Vote.^10 New Housemates Augusto and Kattya were Immune, and could Nominate but not be Nominated. Jarén, Juan-Sebastián and Leito were Nominated and Teobaldo chose not to save any of them.^11 Augusto, Kattya and Romina were Nominated, and after Jarén saved Romina Leito took their place.^12 All Housemates were automatically Nominated. The Housemate with the least save votes would leave the House, and the next two Housemates with the least save votes would enter the Secret Garden. Kattya had the least save votes and was Evicted. Jessica and Romina were the two next least popular Housemates and entered the Secret Garden.^13 Viewers were given the choice of five Evicted Housemates to return to the House for the final Week (Gianmarco, Jarén, Liliana, Teobaldo and Viviana). The three with the most votes would return to the House. The Public chose Teobaldo (29.79%), Jarén (23.89%) and Gianmarco (22.69%) to return and they re-entered after Kattya's Eviction and Jessica & Romina's fake Evictions. Lilliana (19.26%) and Viviana (4.37%) missed out on the chance to return.^14 The two Housemates moved to the Secret Garden (Jessica & Romina) faced the Public Vote, and only one of them could return for the final night.^15 Of the three returned Evicted Housemates only one could stay for the final night and hence Gianmarco, Jarén and Teobaldo all faced the Public vote. The one of them with the most save votes would stay in the House for final night.^16 The final five Housemates all automatically faced the Public Vote to win.

María la del Barrio - Fernando Colunga - Netflix

Fernando Colunga Olivares (pronounced [feɾˈnando koˈluŋɡa oliˈβaɾes]; born March 3, 1966 in Mexico City) is a Mexican actor known for his work in Mexican telenovelas. Colunga received his drama education at CEA (Centro de Educación Artística de Televisa).

María la del Barrio - Career - Netflix

Film and television actor, the only son of the engineer Fernando Colunga and Margarita Olivares began studying civil engineering, had a hardware store, was an auto dealer, worked as a clerk and also as a bartender. “I always had the urge to be an actor, but I did not directly Televisa”, began film acting until in 1988 he worked twice as Eduardo Yañez's stuntman in the soap opera Dulce Desafío (Sweet Challenge). From there he decided to go into acting and enrolled in the Centro de Educación en las Artes (CEA) in Televisa in 1990. At the outset, his face became popular in many homes thanks to having a role in the Mexican version of the famous children's program Sesame Street. He appeared in other shows like “The web”, “Marked time” and “All of it.” He had appearances in telenovelas like Cenizas y Diamantes, Madres Egoístas and Maria Mercedes. Carla Estrada offered him a role in the soap operas Más Allá del Puente with Maria Sorté in 1993-1994. “Fernando is a very studious person and given as a professional, demanding of himself” says Carla Estrada (People Magazine). After this telenovela, had a role in Marimar in 1994 giving birth to Adrian Rosales. By that year, Fernando was released in the cinema with the film Kiss me on the mouth with Paulina Rubio and in 1995 plays the character of Lieutenant Raul Gutierrez Alondra a period novel produced by Carla Estrada, and teaming with actress Veronica Merchant and sharing credits with actors like Gonzalo Vega, Ernesto Laguardia, Marga Lopez, Ana Colchero, Juan Manuel Bernal, Beatriz Sheridan, Eric del Castillo, among others. In 1995-1996 Fernando got his first starring role opposite Thalía in the telenovela Maria la del Barrio giving life to Luis Fernando de la Vega. With this telenovela, Fernando began to be known in many countries. Later starred in Esmeralda with Leticia Calderon, seen in countries as disparate as Indonesia or the Czech Republic. After the success of Esmeralda in 1997, Fernando makes a foray into the theater with Original Sin Not where he starred with Chantal Andere, starred as Jenny and Bill, an unhappy marriage in the process of destruction. His next show was in 1998, La Usurpadora with Venezuelan actress Gabriela Spanic and actors he had worked before and Juan Pablo Gamboa, Chantal Andere, Alejandro Ruiz, Enrique Lizalde and Dominika Paleta, among others. In this novel gives life to Carlos Daniel Bracho, a man who knows that the usurper, Paulina has replaced his wife Paola is under blackmail of it. “I liked playing him because he is quite different from me, but we seem that we are not sexist. But I think a lot more things and demand that others be respectful to me, because I am with them. Carlos Daniel has a weak character and that's not my case.” In an overview Fernando says “I hardly had time to rest between a novel and another, but I accepted it gladly returned to work with friends and I liked the story. Besides best, was meeting someone as lovely as Gabriela Spanic. We understood so well that I think we are a fantastic couple. Besides, my character is not the typical leading man, is very innovative.” (Soap Opera Magazine). Fernando managed to change a bit the image of the telenovela, “Yeah, I got that the protagonist of the telenovela will use beard and mustache and the costumes were something more casual. This had never been given, because the leading men always have to be impeccable; I've got that, without appearing too casual, my character has a different image, more youthful.” (Soap Opera Magazine) Fernando made Nunce Te Olvidare (1999), by Edith Gonzalez. Also participated in Christmas Carol and made the telenovela, Abrazame Muy Fuerte (2000) sharing scenes with Aracely Arambula, Victoria Ruffo, Cesar Evora and Nailea Norvind. After this role, he spent time away from telenovelas, which he used to study acting and production. He also did a role in Navidad Sin Fin in 2001. In 2003 he worked in Amor Real, a production of Carla Estrada, where he plays Manuel Fuentes Guerra, the bastard son of a rich landowner. This telenovela starred alongside Adela Noriega, who played War Resource Matilde Penalver, who was the wife of Manuel Fuentes Guerra. He also starred alongside Mauricio Islas and the first actress Helena Rojo. Thanks to Manuel Fuentes Guerra, he won another award in 2003 on TVyNovelas Award for Best Actor. After Amor Real, Fernando took some time off after which reverted to a genre that loves the theater. Along with César Evora, adapted screenplays and launched Death Trap. “My biggest challenge in making this project is that people have a good time, enjoy my work and see a different performance, they see things that surprise, it's worth paying a ticket to see an actor.” (The Century Torreón) After spending several months touring with his work, in 2005, Fernando returns to television with the telenovela of Carla Estrada, Alborada, a story of time set in Mexico in the eighteenth century. The couple in this case Fernando Lucero, sharing the stage with actors like Valentino Lanús, Daniela Romo, Mariana Garza, Luis Roberto Guzmán, Vanessa Guzman, Arturo Peniche, Iran Castillo and a long list of actors. This gave him the Best Actor award. In 2007 returns to star in a telenovela time, Passion, which is also produced by Carla Estrada. This time he shares scenes with Susana González, Sebastián Rulli and Daniela Castro. In 2008 he worked on the telenovela Manana Es Para Siempre sharing credits with Silvia Navarro and Lucero starring as the villain of the story. Isabel - Shakira - Netflix

Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll (; Spanish: [ʃaˈkiɾa]; born 2 February 1977) is a Colombian singer, songwriter, and dancer. Born and raised in Barranquilla, she began performing in school, demonstrating Latin American, Arabic, and rock and roll influences and belly dancing abilities. Shakira's first studio albums, Magia and Peligro, failed to attain commercial success in the 1990s; however, she rose to prominence in Latin America with her major-label debut, Pies Descalzos (1996), and her fourth album, Dónde Están los Ladrones? (1998). As of 2001, she had sold over 10 million albums alone in Latin America. Shakira entered the English-language market with her fifth album, Laundry Service in 2001. Its lead single, “Whenever, Wherever”, became one of the most successful singles of 2002. Her success was solidified with her sixth and seventh albums Fijación Oral, Volumen Uno and Oral Fixation, Volume Two (2005), the latter of which spawned the best selling single of the 2000s, “Hips Don't Lie”. Shakira's eighth and ninth albums, She Wolf (2009) and Sale el Sol (2010), received critical praise. Her official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, became the biggest-selling World Cup song of all time with 10 million downloads. With over 1.8 billion views, it is one of the most viewed music videos on YouTube. She has four of the twenty top-selling hits of the 2000s, more than any other artist. Shakira served as a coach on the fourth and sixth seasons of the American version of The Voice in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Her tenth album, Shakira (2014), was preceded by its lead single, “Can't Remember to Forget You”. Shakira has received numerous awards, including 5 MTV Video Music Awards, 3 Grammy Awards, 13 Latin Grammy Awards, 7 Billboard Music Awards, 39 Billboard Latin Music Awards and has been Golden Globe-nominated. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and sold over 125 million records worldwide as of 2012 (over 70 million albums sold) with an estimated over 33.5 million record sales in the United States (as of 2018), making her the best selling South American singer and one of the best selling artists of all time. She performs charity work, most notably through her Pies Descalzos Foundation. In 2011, she was appointed by U.S. President Barack Obama to the President’s Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanics – a four-person group that advises the president and Education Secretary. From 2012 to 2015, she was listed among world's top 100 most powerful women in the world by Forbes. In 2017, she was the only artist listed as one of the world's greatest leaders by Fortune, ranked at 27th.

On her music, Shakira has said that, “my music, I think, is a fusion of many different elements. And I'm always experimenting. So I try not to limit myself, or put myself in a category, or... be the architect of my own jail.” Shakira has frequently stated she is inspired by oriental music and Indian music, which influenced many of her earlier works. She has also been influenced by her Arabian heritage, which was a major inspiration for her breakthrough world hit “Ojos Así”. She told Portuguese TV, “Many of my movements belong to Arab culture.” She also cites her parents as having been major contributors to her musical style. She is also strongly influenced by Andean music and South American folk music, using her native instrumentation for her Latin dance-pop songs. Her earlier Spanish albums, including Pies Descalzos and Dónde Están los Ladrones? were a mix of folk music and Latin rock. Her cross-over English album, Laundry Service and later albums were influenced by pop rock and pop Latino. “Laundry Service” is primarily a pop rock album, but also draws influences from a variety of musical genres. The singer credited this to her mixed ethnicity, saying: “I am a fusion. That's my persona. I'm a fusion between black and white, between pop and rock, between cultures – between my Lebanese father and my mother's Spanish blood, the Colombian folklore and Arab dance I love and American music.” The Arabian and Middle Eastern elements that exerted a high influence on Dónde Están los Ladrones? are also present in Laundry Service, most prominently on “Eyes Like Yours”/“Ojos Así”. Musical styles from different South American countries surface on the album. Tango, a style of fast-paced ballroom dance that originated in Argentina, is evident on “Objection (Tango)”, which also combines elements of rock and roll. The uptempo track features a guitar solo and a bridge in which Shakira delivers rap-like vocals. She Wolf is primarily an electropop album that combines influences from the musical styles of various countries and regions, like Africa, Colombia, India, and the Middle East. Shakira termed the album as a “sonic experimental trip”, and said that she researched folk music from different countries in order to “combine electronics with world sounds, tambourines, clarinets, oriental and Hindu music, dancehall, etc.” Her 2010 album, Sale el Sol, is a return to her beginnings containing ballads, rock songs, and Latin dance songs like “Loca”. Shakira stated that John Lennon was her number one and biggest music influence. As a child, Shakira was influenced by rock music, listening heavily to rock bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Nirvana, The Police and U2, while her other influences included Gloria Estefan, Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Marc Anthony, Meredith Brooks and The Cure. Shakira is well known for her dancing in various music videos and in concert. Her moves are based on the art of belly dancing, a part of her Lebanese heritage. She often performs barefoot; Shakira says she learned this form of dance as a young teen to overcome her shyness. She also mentioned in a MTV interview that she learned how to belly dance by trying to flip a coin with her belly.

Cuéntame un cuento - Cuéntame cómo pasó - Netflix

Cuéntame cómo pasó (English: Tell me how it happened), usually shortened to Cuéntame and also known in English as Remember When, is a Spanish television drama series which has been broadcast on La 1 of Televisión Española since 2001. It is the longest running prime-time series in the history of television in Spain. The series recounts the experiences of a middle-class family, the Alcántaras (Spanish: Los Alcántara), during the last years of the rule of Francisco Franco and the beginning of the Spanish transition to democracy. Initially the series was to be titled Nuestro Ayer, but it finally was titled Cuéntame. This name comes from the famous song Cuéntame by the Spanish 1960s pop band Fórmula V that is used as the series opening theme. In March 2002, during the first season, the title was changed to Cuéntame cómo pasó because Cuéntame was already registered. The series was created to celebrate the first 25 years since Spain's transition to democracy, and its didactic spirit is clearly evident in some of the episodes. In special episodes it includes documentary interviews with historical figures of the era speaking about how they experienced the assassination of then Prime Minister Luis Carrero Blanco or the death of Francisco Franco. The first episode was broadcast on 13 September 2001. The series begins in April 1968 with the arrival of television to the house of the Alcántaras just in time to watch the victory of Massiel at the Eurovision Song Contest. The story reflects the changes in Spain beginning that day. In March 2018, TVE and Grupo Ganga announced that the series, after its 19th season, would be renewed for one more season, with the storyline moving firmly into the late 1980s. Through situations, characters, and attitudes of the era, the series evokes a wistful reminiscence of those times. In this respect it can be compared to the series The Wonder Years, which did the same thing for US history. This series was adapted in Portugal by RTP as Conta-me como Foi, starting the same year (1968) and going to 1974, the year of the 25 de Abril, with the participation of Portuguese actors such as Rita Blanco and Miguel Guilherme. It was also adapted in Italy by RAI as Raccontami with Massimo Ghini and Lunetta Savino and in Argentina by Televisión Pública Argentina as Cuéntame cómo pasó with Nicolás Cabré and Malena Solda. Cuéntame cómo pasó has received numerous national and international awards, including the first Premio Nacional de Televisión awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture in 2009, two Premios Ondas (the International Television Award in 2002 and for Best National Television Series in 2003), three New York Latin ACE Awards (for Best Scenic Program in Television in 2008 and Special Awards for Imanol Arias in 2009 and Ana Duato in 2010) and a Silver Bird Prize in the Seoul International Drama Awards as the runner-up for Best Drama Series in 2007. It was also nominated for the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series in 2003. The series, its cast and its technical staff have received more than seventy awards overall. A short clip from the series' first episode was shown at the 2012 Summer Olympics opening ceremony in London among clips of famous British television programmes, music videos and films as part of “Frankie and June say...thanks Tim” sequence.

Salome is a feminine name derived from the Hebrew word shalom, meaning “peace.” Salome (c. early 1st century CE) was the daughter of Herodias, and nemesis of John the Baptist (Mark 6:17-29 and Matt 14:3-11). El Jardín de Bronce - José Martí - Netflix

José Julián Martí Pérez (Spanish pronunciation: [xoˈse xuˈljam maɾˈti ˈpeɾes]; January 28, 1853 – May 19, 1895) was a Cuban National Hero and an important figure in Latin American literature. During his life, he worked as a poet, essayist, journalist, translator, professor, and publisher. He was very politically active, and is considered an important revolutionary philosopher and political theorist. Through his writings and political activity, he became a symbol of Cuba's bid for independence against Spain in the 19th century, and is referred to as the “Apostle of Cuban Independence.” From adolescence, he dedicated his life to the promotion of liberty, political independence for Cuba, and intellectual independence for all Spanish Americans; his death was used as a cry for Cuban independence from Spain by both the Cuban revolutionaries and those Cubans previously reluctant to start a revolt. Martí was also used as a figurehead by the Cuban government throughout the regime of Fidel Castro, and his writings were commonly cited as supporting socialism within Castro's administration. Born in Havana, Martí began his political activism at an early age. He traveled extensively in Spain, Latin America, and the United States, raising awareness and support for the cause of Cuban independence. His unification of the Cuban émigré community, particularly in Florida, was crucial to the success of the Cuban War of Independence against Spain. He was a key figure in the planning and execution of this war, as well as the designer of the Cuban Revolutionary Party and its ideology. He died in military action during the Battle of Dos Ríos on May 19, 1895. Martí is considered one of the great turn-of-the-century Latin American intellectuals. His written works include a series of poems, essays, letters, lectures, novel, and a children's magazine. He wrote for numerous Latin American and American newspapers; he also founded a number of newspapers. His newspaper Patria was an important instrument in his campaign for Cuban independence. After his death, one of his poems from the book, “Versos Sencillos” (Simple Verses) was adapted to the song “Guantanamera”, which has become the definitive patriotic song of Cuba. The concepts of freedom, liberty, and democracy are prominent themes in all of his works, which were influential on the Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío and the Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral.

2091 - Area code 917 - Netflix

Area code 917 is an area code for all five boroughs of New York City (The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island). It was the first cellular/pager/voicemail area code for the city and is an overlay to Manhattan's 212/646/332 and the other four boroughs' 718/347/929. Occasionally, 917 is also assigned to landlines, most commonly in Manhattan, in large part because of the particularly severe shortage of numbers there. Introduced on February 4, 1992, area code 917 is the first overlay area code in the North American Numbering Plan. When it was established, all cellphones in New York City were switched to 917, freeing up telephone numbers for additional landlines. Shortly after its implementation, the Federal Communications Commission announced that any new area codes going forth must not be service-specific, but did grandfather 917 from that rule. It is the last area code added under the original X1X format, whose last digit was not 0. In 1990, The New York Telephone Company wanted cellphones and pagers in Manhattan and all telephone lines in The Bronx to be assigned area code 917. The New York State Public Service Commission denied the request and chose the present configuration.

Jorjais (portrayed by Manuel “Flaco” Ibáñez) is a homeless, but nonetheless clever, man. Don Serafio (portrayed by Pedro Romo) is the local handyman who charges reasonable prices and always does a good job. Don Serafio is often frustrated by the neighbors' willingness to listen to German when he claims he could do the same job quicker and for a lower price, and almost always ends up coming back to fix everything when German fails miserably. Piloto (portrayed by Luis Gerardo Mendez) is Alejandra's friend and bandmate, vocalist for her rock band. Piloto is a dimwitted boy who dresses in punk fashion but is anything but. He befriends Yeyis in a plot to squeeze money out of her but eventually falls for her, going as far as being willing to give up his friendship with Alejandra to remain with Yeyis. Gudelia (portrayed by Claudia Bollat) is German's on-and-off girlfriend who works as a maid in a neighboring building. Neto (portrayed by Benjamín Rivero) is the handsome and muscular owner of the convenience store next to the building. Neto often flirts with Silvia, who flirts right back.

La Embajada - Foreign relations of Mexico - Netflix

The foreign relations of Mexico are directed by the President of the United Mexican States and managed through the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs. The principles of the foreign policy are constitutionally recognized in the Article 89, Section 10, which include: respect for international law and legal equality of states, their sovereignty and independence, non-intervention in the domestic affairs of other countries, peaceful resolution of conflicts, and promotion of collective security through active participation in international organizations. Since the 1930s, the Estrada Doctrine has served as a crucial complement to these principles. After the War of Independence, the relations of Mexico were focused primarily on the United States, its northern neighbor, largest trading partner, and the most powerful actor in hemispheric and world affairs. Once the order was reestablished, its foreign policy was built under hemispheric prestige in subsequent decades. Demonstrating independence from the U.S., Mexico supported the Cuban government since its establishment in the early 1960s, the Sandinista revolution in Nicaragua during the late 1970s, and leftist revolutionary groups in El Salvador during the 1980s. In the 2000s, former President Vicente Fox adopted a new foreign policy that calls for an openness and an acceptance of criticism from the international community and the increase of Mexican involvement in foreign affairs, as well as a further integration towards its northern neighbors. A greater priority to Latin America and the Caribbean was given during the administration of President Felipe Calderón. Mexico is one of the founding members of several international organizations, most notably the United Nations, the Organization of American States, the Organization of Ibero-American States, the OPANAL and the Rio Group. For a long time, Mexico has been one of the largest contributors to the United Nations regular budget, in 2008 over 40 million dollars were given to the organization. In addition, it was the only Latin American member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development since it joined in 1994 until the accession of Chile in 2010. Mexico is considered as a newly industrialized country, a regional power and an emerging market, hence its presence in major economic groups such as the G8+5 and the G-20 major economies.

La Embajada - United Nations - Netflix

Mexico is the tenth largest contributor to the United Nations (UN) regular budgets. Currently, it is a member of eighteen organizations arisen from the General Assembly, Economic and Social Council and other specialized organizations of the UN.

Mexico has served as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) three times (1946, 1982–83, 2002–03). On October 17, 2008, picking up 185 votes, it was elected to serve as a non-permanent member for the fourth time, from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2010. Since April 1, Mexico holds the rotative presidency of the UNSC. In recent years, the need of reforming the UNSC and its working methods has been widely impulsed by Mexico, with the support of Canada, Italy, Pakistan and other nine countries. And have formed a movement informally called the Coffee Club, created in the 1990s, which highly opposes to the reform that the Group of Four (G4) suggests. In line with the Castañeda Doctrine of new openness in Mexico's foreign policy, established in the early first decade of the 21st century, some political parties have proposed an amendment of the Constitution in order to allow the Mexican army, air force or navy to collaborate with the UN in peacekeeping missions.

90-60-90 Modelos - Differences from America's Next Top Model - Netflix

In contrast to America's Next Top Model, in which each cycle begins with preliminary rounds that span one or two episodes and around 30 pre-selected semi-finalists, Top Model begins with several rounds of open auditions held in cities across Poland, followed by a “bootcamp” which concludes with the selection of the final cast of 13 or 14, with the casting process spanning three or four episodes. Contestants are sometimes split into pairs for photo shoots, and the better-performing contestant from each pair is determined during the evaluation panel and granted immunity. Each cycle concludes with a live broadcast in which the final three or four contestants compete in front of a live audience, and a televote decides the winner of the competition.

Cuéntame como pasó - Netflix

Cuéntame cómo pasó (English: Tell me how it happened), also known as Cuéntame, is a Spanish television series which has been broadcast by the Spanish public TV channel TVE1 since 2001. Its original name (Tell me) had to be changed for copyright reasons.

The series recounts the experiences of a middle-class family, the Alcántaras (in Spanish Los Alcántara), during the last years of the rule of Francisco Franco and the beginning of the Spanish Transition to democracy. Its name comes from a famous song by the Spanish 1960s pop group Fórmula V, titled Tell Me. The producer of the series is Miguel Ángel Bernardeau.

The series was created to celebrate the first 25 years since Spain's transition to democracy, and its didactic spirit is clearly evident in some of the episodes. It includes documentary interviews with historical figures of the era, such as people concerned with the assassination of then prime minister Carrero Blanco and the death of Franco.

The first episode was broadcast on September 13, 2001. The series begins in April 1968 with the victory in the Eurovision song contest of the singer Massiel. The story reflects changes in Spain beginning in that year.

In December 2008, TVE and Ganga Group announced that the series, in its 10th season, had achieved very good audience levels, and would be renewed for up to 3 more seasons, with the storyline moving firmly into the 1980s and the "Movida madrileña".

Through situations, characters, and attitudes of the era, the series evokes a wistful reminiscence of those times. In this respect it can be compared to the series The Wonder Years, which did the same thing for US history.

This series influenced the Portuguese series Conta-me como foi, which starts the same year (1968) and goes to 1974, the year of the 25 de Abril. It has the participation of Portuguese actors such as Rita Blanco and Miguel Guilherme.

Películas para no dormir - Álex de la Iglesia - Netflix

Alejandro “Álex” de la Iglesia Mendoza (born 4 December 1965) is a Spanish film director, screenwriter, producer and former comic book artist. De la Iglesia's films combines grotesque and very dark elements such as death and murder: most of his work is considered dark comedies, but are also often considered to have horror and/or drama elements. All his films, with the notable exceptions of The Last Circus (2010) and As Luck Would Have It (2011), were written together with Jorge Guerricaechevarría.

Películas para no dormir - Biography - Netflix

Álex de la Iglesia was born in Bilbao, Spain, in 1965. He is a philosophy graduate of the University of Deusto who ended up working in the comic book field at a young age. He had a brief stint in television before finding work as production designer on Pablo Berger's Mamá. This little seen short film focuses on a family forced to live in a basement after a nuclear war and features a little boy who wears a Batman costume. Enrique Urbizu came calling for his production designer services in 1991 for Todo por la pasta (Anything for money), a Basque crime thriller which was nominated for 4 Goya Awards, and won 1 (best supporting actress). He then met José Guerricaechevarria and together they made the short film, Mirindas Asesinas (1991), in which a boring man, whose mind is gradually degenerating, is on the verge of becoming a psychotic killer. The two men became fast friends and have worked together ever since, with José writing the screenplays to many of De La Iglesia's films. In 1993 De La Iglesia received a big break when Spain's most famous director, Pedro Almodóvar, produced his debut feature Accion mutante (Mutant Action). This tale of a group of crippled and handicapped outcasts in the future taking arms against handsome oppressors, became an independent success globally. The next step he took was El día de la Bestia (The Day Of The Beast) (1995). It won 6 Goyas, the Best Director award amongst them. It also marked his first collaboration with producer Andrés Vicente Gómez. Wanting to build on the success of The Day Of The Beast, Gómez hired Iglesia to direct Perdita Durango based on novelist Barry Gifford's 59 Degrees and Raining; The Story of Perdita Durango. Barry Gifford helped out on the script also. Isabella Rossellini played Perdita Durango in David Lynch's Wild At Heart, also based on a Gifford work. The film was in English, but did not prove as great a success as hoped; for some it felt too post-Tarantino. The film was also more nasty in its violence, and its confrontational style (though laced with typically dark humour), resulted in cuts and running times around the globe varying from 95 minutes in South Korea to 126 minutes in Spain. It was rumoured Bigas Luna was originally offered the directors chair for the film. Back in Spain, in 1999 de la Iglesia had success with Dying of Laughter a dark comedy about a Martin & Lewis style comic duo with no love for each other, nominated for 3 Goyas, winning 2. La Comunidad (2000), a dark comedy/thriller set in an apartment block with a money scamble, got 15 Goya nominations, won 3. 800 Bullets (2002), a homage to spaghetti westerns, got 4 Goya nominations, 1 win. And Crimen ferpecto (2004), a dark comedy thriller with a man aspiring to perfection, winning 6 Goya prizes as a result. All these films have the recipe of dark humour, selfish aspirational characters, and very sexy situations. De la Iglesia himself also provided the voice of The Underminer in the Spanish language dubbing of The Incredibles (2004). In 2006 he directed an episode of the TV series Películas para no dormir (Films To Keep You Awake) titled The Baby's Room. In 2008, de la Iglesia directed the science-fiction comedy TV series Plutón B.R.B. Nero. He has directed Elijah Wood and John Hurt in The Oxford Murders, which is his second movie in English, released in Spain in January 2008.

Latin Grammy Awards - Grammy Award - Netflix

A Grammy Award (stylized as GRAMMY, originally called Gramophone Award), or Grammy, is an award presented by The Recording Academy to recognize achievement in the music industry. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and the presentation of those awards that have a more popular interest. It shares recognition of the music industry as that of the other performance awards such as the Academy Awards (film), the Emmy Awards (television), and the Tony Awards (theater). The first Grammy Awards ceremony was held on May 4, 1959, to honor and respect the musical accomplishments by performers for the year 1958. Following the 2011 ceremony, the Academy overhauled many Grammy Award categories for 2012. The 61st Annual Grammy Awards, honoring the best achievements from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018, will be held in February 2019, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Latin Grammy Awards - 2012 category restructuring - Netflix

On April 6, 2011, The Recording Academy announced a drastic overhaul of many Grammy Award categories for 2012. The number of categories was cut from 109 to 78. The most important change was the elimination of the distinction between male and female soloists and between collaborations and duo/groups in various genre fields (pop, rock, R&B, country, and rap). Also, several categories for instrumental soloists were discontinued. Recordings in these categories now fall under the general categories for best solo performances. In the rock field, the separate categories for hard rock and metal albums were combined and the Best Rock Instrumental Performance category was eliminated due to a waning number of entries. In R&B, the distinction between best contemporary R&B album and other R&B albums has been eliminated. They now feature in one, general Best R&B Album category. In rap, the categories for best rap soloist and best rap duo or group have been merged into the new Best Rap Performance category. The most eliminations occurred in the roots category. Up to and including 2011, there were separate categories for various regional American music forms, such as Hawaiian music, Native American music and Zydeco/Cajun music. Due to the consistently low number of entries for these categories, The Recording Academy decided to combine all these music variations into the new Best Regional Roots Music Album, including polka, which lost its own separate category in 2009. In the same genre field, the traditional and contemporary blues categories and the traditional and contemporary folk categories each were consolidated into one per genre, due to the number of entries and given the challenges in distinguishing between contemporary folk and Americana, and contemporary and traditional blues. In the world music genre field, the traditional and contemporary categories also merged. In the classical genre field, its main category Best Classical Album was discontinued because most recipients in this category had also won in one of the other classical categories for the same album. Classical recordings are now eligible for the main Album of the Year category. There were also a few minor name changes to better reflect the nature of the separate categories. It was determined by the Recording Academy that the word “gospel” in the gospel genre field tends to conjure up the images and sounds of traditional soul gospel and leaves out the current contemporary Christian music (CCM). Therefore, the genre field and some categories were renamed as Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music. Since 2012 there have been a small number of adjustments made to the list of categories and genre fields. The number of categories has gone up from 78 in 2012 to 84 in 2017.

Velvet - Velvet Revolver - Netflix

Velvet Revolver was an American hard rock supergroup consisting of Guns N' Roses members Slash (lead guitar), Duff McKagan (bass, backing vocals), and former member Matt Sorum (drums, backing vocals), alongside Dave Kushner (rhythm guitar) formerly of punk band Wasted Youth and Scott Weiland formerly of Stone Temple Pilots. Weiland left the band to rejoin Stone Temple Pilots in 2008. In 2004, the band achieved commercial success with their debut album, Contraband. Despite positive reviews, some critics initially described Velvet Revolver as a mere combination of Stone Temple Pilots and Guns N' Roses, criticizing them for a “disconnection” between Weiland and the rest of the band. With their single “Slither”, they won the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance. The band released Libertad in 2007, driven by the release of the single “She Builds Quick Machines”, and embarked on a tour with Alice in Chains. In April 2008, Weiland abruptly left Velvet Revolver and reunited with Stone Temple Pilots. Velvet Revolver was put on indefinite hiatus and in November of that year, requested to be released by their record label RCA Records to allow themselves “complete freedom to go through whatever process it would take to accomplish” replacing Weiland. Although Velvet Revolver worked on new material and auditioned new singers following Scott Weiland's departure, the band has not released any new material and only performed publicly once since 2008, when they reunited with Weiland for a one-off reunion show on January 12, 2012 at a benefit concert. This proved to be their last performance together before Weiland's death on December 3, 2015. Slash and McKagan have since rejoined Guns N' Roses.

Velvet - Search for a new singer and solo careers (2008–2015) - Netflix

After Weiland's departure, the band began recording and searching for a new singer. The search was sporadic with the band spending some time auditioning singers, then turning into solo projects, returning to the band, then abandoning it again. Several names were rumored to be auditioning for the band through the years. Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge) was strongly rumored due to his collaborations with Slash; Lenny Kravitz, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, Steve Isaacs formerly of Skycycle and The Panic Channel, Royston Langdon of Spacehog, Donovan Leitch of Camp Freddy, Ours singer Jimmy Gnecco and Scars on Broadway guitarist Franky Perez, as well as previous auditionee Sebastian Bach. Kushner later revealed that Perez was officially hired by the band as vocalist for a brief time in 2008. Slash, McKagan, and Sorum all contributed to the song “Kissed It” for the Macy Gray album The Sellout, which was released on June 22, 2011. Despite not featuring Kushner, the trio were credited as Velvet Revolver on the album. The band released their first concert DVD on November 16, 2010, entitled Live In Houston, which was filmed June 18, 2004, at the Verizon Wireless Theater while the band was touring in support of Contraband. Slash, McKagan and Sorum made a performance at the Road Recovery benefit concert on September 13 with a guest appearance from Kushner. Instigated by Kushner's wife, Velvet Revolver reunited for a one-off performance with Scott Weiland at a benefit concert for the late John O'Brien, on January 12, 2012. Following a benefit show for the Road Recovery in 2011 with the other Velvet Revolver members, each one agreed to a one-off reunion before Kushner invited Weiland, who also agreed. Kushner also stated it was then unknown what Velvet Revolver's plans were for the future after the reunion show; “I know everyone’s got other commitments, but I think everyone’s like, 'Let’s get this thing done and get through this and then we’ll see.'”. In April 2012, Scott Weiland remarked that he would like to reunite permanently with Velvet Revolver, saying that “if Maynard James Keenan can do it with A Perfect Circle and Tool, then there’s no reason why I shouldn’t go and do it with both bands”. Further in May in an interview with ABC Radio Weiland said that he had reunited with the band permanently for a tour and an album, which however was denied a few days later by Slash in an interview with 93X. On May 12, 2014, in an interview at the MusiCares benefit concert, Slash told journalist Lucas H. Gordon that he “think[s] [they're] gonna audition a singer” in the future. However, he also stated that he would be touring with his solo band “for the next year and a half.” On June 29, 2014, in an interview to Totalrock radio, Duff McKagan talked to Hayley Leggs in Clisson France about the subject of a new lead vocalist for Velvet Revolver and revealed that there had been at least one audition for the role of lead vocalist, but said that the person that they auditioned did not properly impress the remaining members of the band. He also ruled himself out of being the lead vocalist of Velvet Revolver due to the experiences he has had of being the vocalist of his own band Loaded, saying that being the lead vocalist and being a bass player at the same time was not as appealing to him because it would require him to be much more static in his stage presence, saying that he prefers moving around on stage during live performances. In the same interview, McKagan talked about his new book which was then in the writing stages. On December 3, 2015, Weiland was found dead on his tour bus around 9 pm, one day before he was to perform in Minnesota with his band The Wildabouts. Both Slash and McKagan have since rejoined Guns N' Roses.

He doesn´t imagine that soon he will forget this purpose and will discover that the earth, the sowing and sharing with the workmen become a source of passion for him.
